QUESTIONS

# Questions about voche.me.

<details>

<summary>Are the candidate profiles real?</summary>

Yes. Every profile is a person on the City of Surrey’s Declaration of Election by Voting, signed by the Chief Election Officer on September 21, 2026. That notice is the source for each name and office. The elector organization comes from the candidate’s profile page on the City’s website.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What is an elector organization?</summary>

The City of Surrey says an elector organization or political party promotes a candidate or group of candidates. This site lists them under Parties. A candidate whose City profile names no elector organization is listed with no party.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Who can vote?</summary>

The City of Surrey says a resident elector must be 18 or older on election day, a Canadian citizen, a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months before registering to vote, a resident of Surrey, and not disqualified by law from voting. A person who owns property in Surrey and lives elsewhere in BC may vote as a non-resident property elector if they meet the City’s conditions for that.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is voche.me an official City of Surrey website?</summary>

No. voche.me is an independent guide, separate from the City of Surrey, the Surrey School District, the elector organizations and the candidates. We link to the City wherever a page depends on official information, such as voting places, hours and identification.

</details>

<details>

<summary>When can I vote?</summary>

General voting day is Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 8 am to 8 pm. The City lists advance voting on October 7, 10, 14 and 15, also from 8 am to 8 pm. The City says voters can vote at any of its voting locations.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I vote by mail?</summary>

Yes. The City of Surrey says eligible voters can request a mail ballot package until October 14, 2026, and that after October 7 packages are only available for pick-up at City Hall. A completed mail ballot package must reach the Chief Election Officer by 8 pm on October 17, 2026.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does an empty section on a profile mean?</summary>

It records that voche.me has not yet added sourced material there. The candidate may well have a position, and the page will show it once a public source confirms it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Who writes the research on the candidate pages?</summary>

For this election, an automated process reads public sources and writes the research, following published standards for sourcing and for how claims about real people are stated. A person does not review each page before it is published. Every page lists its sources, and the report form reaches the editors.
