Richmond will mark Remembrance Day with its annual ceremony at the cenotaph outside City Hall on November 11, with road closures in effect for most of the morning around No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

The City of Richmond says a parade will begin at 10:20 am from City Hall. The procession will include Canadian veterans, Royal Canadian Legion members, Army/Navy/Air Force Veterans in Canada, Unit 39 Service Battalion, public safety personnel and cadet groups. Official ceremonies start at 10:40 am at the cenotaph on the east side of Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Road. At 11:00 am, attendees will observe two minutes of silence, followed by wreath-laying. The City asks residents to leave pets at home.

## Road closures on November 11

Drivers should plan for two street closures near City Hall from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm on November 11:

- **No. 3 Road** between Park Road and Bennett Road, closed in both directions
- **Granville Avenue** between Minoru Boulevard and Buswell Street, closed in both directions

## Watch online

Those who cannot attend in person can watch the ceremony live at richmond.ca/remember. A recording will be posted on that page after the event for those who could not watch it live.

## Reception and displays

After the ceremony, the City of Richmond says the public is welcome inside City Hall for a reception with hot drinks. The Richmond Museum and City Archives will have historical displays on site, and the City says the reception is a chance to connect with veterans, volunteers and other community members. Attendance is free and open to everyone.

The ceremony is funded in part through the Commemorative Partnership Program from Veterans Affairs Canada. For information, the City's main line is 604-276-4000.
