Tina Lee has been confirmed as the BC NDP candidate for Penticton-Summerland, the Penticton Western News reported on October 1, 2026. Voting day is October 24.

Lee ran in the same riding in 2024 and finished 300 votes behind the winner, Amelia Boultbee, according to the Western News. Boultbee later switched from the BC Conservatives to the BC NDP, then chose not to seek re-election in 2026. The Western News reported that Boultbee praised Lee's work ethic when stepping aside.

After Boultbee's decision, Lee gathered the signatures required to secure her nomination in under 48 hours, the Western News reported.

"I want to stand up for affordable housing, mental health supports and strong public services," Lee said, according to the Western News.

## The race

As of October 1, the Western News identified three confirmed candidates in Penticton-Summerland: Lee for the BC NDP, Tracy St. Claire for the BC Conservatives, and Warren Hamm for OneBC. St. Claire ran in 2024 as an unaffiliated candidate before joining the Conservatives for the 2026 campaign, the Western News reported.

Nominations close October 3, 2026 at 1 p.m. Pacific time. The Penticton-Summerland riding covers the city of Penticton and the District of Summerland in the South Okanagan. Elections BC will publish the complete candidate list for the riding once the October 3 deadline passes.

The 2024 election in this riding was unusually close. Boultbee won it running under the BC Conservative banner, then crossed the floor to the BC NDP, making the 2026 race an open contest with new candidates on both sides.
