The BC NDP nominated Jason Leboe as its candidate in Fraser-Nicola for the October 24 provincial election, according to the Agassiz Harrison Observer on October 2, 2026.

Leboe works as a utilities operator for the District of Hope and serves as secretary-treasurer of the Fraser Valley Labour Council. He is a member of CUPE BC and CUPE Local 458.

The Agassiz Harrison Observer quoted Leboe as saying that public services are the foundation of rural communities. His candidacy puts a focus on workers and public services. The current MLA in Fraser-Nicola is Conservative incumbent Tony Luck.

## Three candidates named in Fraser-Nicola

Leboe joins two other declared candidates. Conservative incumbent Tony Luck is seeking re-election, and BC Greens candidate Patrick Michell, a retired First Nations chief, was named earlier in the campaign. As of the Agassiz Harrison Observer's report on October 2, these three were the confirmed candidates.

The Fraser-Nicola riding covers a large stretch of interior BC, including the communities of Hope, Merritt, and Lytton. It is currently held by Luck, who won the seat in 2024.

## Leboe's background

Leboe has lived in Hope for several years. He has two children and spends time hiking and competing in triathlons, according to the Agassiz Harrison Observer.

His work with CUPE Local 458 and the Fraser Valley Labour Council means his campaign will center on issues affecting municipal workers and public services. He has not previously run for elected office, according to the report.

Premier David Eby, in a statement carried by the Agassiz Harrison Observer, said candidates across BC are running on the NDP's platform to strengthen the province against trade pressures.
