The Conservative Party of BC named its candidates for all ten Surrey-area ridings on September 29, 2026, ahead of the October 3 nominations deadline. Indo-Canadian Voice reported the announcement.

The ten candidates named were: Jessy Sahota for Surrey-Serpentine River, Gurpreet Gary Thind for Surrey-Guildford, Nicholas Cartmell for Surrey-Cloverdale, Harj Dhaliwal for Surrey-Newton, Garry Purewal for Surrey-Fleetwood, Megan Knight for Surrey-South, Trevor Halford for Surrey-White Rock, Bryan Tepper for Surrey-Panorama, Zeeshan Wahla for Surrey-City-Centre, and Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal for Surrey-North.

The party said in a statement that the slate "brings together a unified team with decades of experience in business, education and public service." Indo-Canadian Voice reported that statement; no individual candidate quotes were included.

## Surrey in the 2026 campaign

Surrey's ten provincial ridings cover a large portion of Metro Vancouver's south side. The city is one of BC's largest by population, and its ridings span a range of communities from the waterfront at White Rock in the south to the urbanizing areas around Guildford and Newton further north. The Conservative Party filling all ten Surrey ridings ahead of the October 3 deadline means voters in each of those ridings now have at least one named candidate to research before election day.

Surrey contains some of BC's fastest-growing communities and is home to a large number of provincial ridings relative to other municipalities.

## Nominations and next steps

Nominations for all BC ridings close October 3, 2026 at 1 p.m. Pacific time. Other parties naming Surrey candidates before that deadline will appear in Elections BC's official list when it is published. Voting day is October 24, 2026. Advance voting runs October 16 to 21.

Voters in Surrey ridings can look up their riding's full candidate list at [/bc/provincial-2026/news](/bc/provincial-2026/news) once nominations close.
