The leaders of BC's three largest parties will meet in a single live televised debate on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time, CHEK News reported on October 6.

David Eby of the BC NDP, Lorne Doerkson of the Conservative Party of BC, and Emily Lowan of the BC Green Party will take part. The debate will be moderated by Shachi Kurl, president of the Angus Reid Institute, according to CHEK News.

The debate will air live on CHEK TV and be livestreamed on cheknews.ca. CHEK News described it as the only live and televised debate of the 2026 provincial election.

Voting day is October 24, ten days after the debate. Advance voting runs October 16 to 21.

**About the leaders**

[David Eby](/bc/provincial-2026/candidates/david-eby) has led the BC NDP since November 2022 and has served as Premier since that time. His party forms the current provincial government.

[Lorne Doerkson](/bc/provincial-2026/candidates/lorne-doerkson) became interim leader of the Conservative Party of BC in August 2026. He previously served as MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin.

[Emily Lowan](/bc/provincial-2026/candidates/emily-lowan) leads the BC Green Party, which currently holds seats in the legislature for Saanich North and the Islands and West Vancouver-Sea to Sky.

**One debate for three parties**

With 17 days of campaigning left before voting day, the October 14 debate gives voters their only opportunity to watch all three leaders answer questions at the same time in a live broadcast. CHEK News said it will be both broadcast on television and livestreamed online, so viewers without a cable subscription can watch on cheknews.ca.

The election campaign began in late September. Topics that have come up on the campaign trail include health care wait times, housing costs, public safety, and car insurance. Candidates across the province have been holding their own local forums; the October 14 event is the first time the party leaders will appear on the same stage.
