A Leger survey released September 30, 2026 puts the Conservative Party of BC ahead of the BC NDP by three points among decided voters, with 24 days remaining before the October 24 provincial election. Daily Hive Vancouver reported the findings.

Among decided voters, the Conservatives stand at 39%, the BC NDP at 36%, the BC Greens at 13%, OneBC at 5%, and CentreBC at 5%. Thirteen percent of all respondents said they were undecided. Leger surveyed 1,003 British Columbia adults between September 24 and 28, 2026. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

## Regional results

Support is not evenly spread across the province. In Metro Vancouver, the BC NDP leads narrowly at 39% to the Conservatives' 37%, with the Greens at 12%. On Vancouver Island, the two parties are tied at 37%, with the Greens at 16%. Outside Metro Vancouver and the Island, the Conservatives lead 44% to 31%.

## Snap election disapproval

The survey also asked about the decision to call an early vote. Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they disapprove of the snap election call, including 34% who said they strongly disapprove. Twenty-eight percent said they approve. Daily Hive reported that disapproval extends into NDP supporters: nearly half of those who say they plan to vote NDP said they oppose the early call.

When asked who they prefer as premier, 39% named David Eby and 35% named Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson.

## Top issues

Health care was the issue most often named as most important, at 15%. Housing affordability came second at 14%, followed by the economy at 13%.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they are concerned that some Conservative MLAs and candidates hold extreme views. Twenty-eight percent of respondents aged 18 to 34 said they are likely to switch their vote before election day, higher than among older age groups.
