01 / Introduction
## About Vikas Gautam
Elections BC lists Vikas Gautam as the CentreBC candidate in Burnaby Centre. On the list stamped October 3, 2026 10:00:06 AM, the other accepted nominations in the district are Anne Kang of the BC NDP and Shila Taheri of the BC Green Party. BC Ballot also lists Joshua Domnich of the Conservative Party as announced by his party and not yet filed. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so more candidates may be added.
Anne Kang of the BC NDP won Burnaby Centre in 2024 with 9,780 votes (57.28 percent), according to Elections BC’s statement of votes. Dharam Kajal of the Conservative Party received 7,294 votes (42.72 percent). A search of that statement for the names Vikas and Gautam found no match, so he was not a candidate in the 2024 provincial election.
The party’s page about him says he is a community volunteer, communications and event organizer. It says his community involvement includes volunteering with Hindu Temple Burnaby and supporting fundraising for the Surrey Food Bank, the Vancouver Food Bank and B.C. flood relief. It also says that during the COVID-19 pandemic he organized and supported online events that connected people in Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South and Southeast Asia. These are the party’s statements. voche.me found no independent record of any of them and has not checked them with the groups named.
The party page says his experience taught him “the importance of listening, building relationships, bringing people together, and turning community ideas into action.” It names no measure on any subject. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

voche.me found no campaign website of his own, no social media account tied to this candidacy, and no interview or statement from him as a candidate on 2026-10-03. His one stated approach comes from one sentence on the party’s page, so his views on housing, health care, the cost of living, public safety, the economy, education, climate, Indigenous reconciliation, transportation and the provincial budget are unknown. voche.me found no 2026 CentreBC election platform on 2026-10-03: the party’s policy page says its Policy Committee is still writing its first policy areas. The party’s statements about him are unchecked: his volunteering with Hindu Temple Burnaby, his fundraising support for the Surrey Food Bank, the Vancouver Food Bank and B.C. flood relief, and the online events he organized during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hindu Temple Burnaby About page was opened and does not name him. A CBC News report of January 23, 2018 by Liam Britten, about the temple moving to a new building, names a temple official called Vikas Gautam. The party page says its candidate volunteers with the same temple, but no page voche.me read states that the two are the same person, so the report is not used for any statement about this candidate. The party page links only to the party’s own Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, LinkedIn and Bluesky accounts, and names no account of his own. Search results show other people named Vikas Gautam, including profiles on contact-listing and professional networking sites. No page voche.me read ties any of them to this candidacy, so none is used. The party’s 49 news posts and its 100 newest public Bluesky posts, from June 6 to October 2, 2026, do not name him. All-candidates meetings in Burnaby Centre, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.
