01 / Introduction

## About Susie Chant

Susie Chant is the BC NDP candidate in North Vancouver-Seymour on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. She won the district in 2024 with 16,210 votes, 52.77% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes.

The legislature record lists her election years as 2020 and 2024. A government release of December 7, 2022 named her Parliamentary Secretary for Accessibility. The government release of November 18, 2024 named her Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors' Services and Long-Term Care, and the government's page for that role says she is also responsible for B.C.'s Consular Corps.

In the legislature she has described herself as a registered nurse for more than 40 years, and said she joined the military in 1979. The government's page for her role says she worked as a registered nurse team leader in community care with Vancouver Coastal Health and served in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves for over 40 years. voche.me has not checked these points with the health authority or the Navy.

In 2026 she spoke in the legislature for the budget, for the freedom of information bill (Bill 9) and for the K'ómoks Treaty Act (Bill 20). She spoke against a private member's bill on long-term care reporting (Bill M232). Government releases in 2026 quote her on care for seniors at home, age-friendly community grants and a new long-term care home.

The Canadian Press reported on September 26, 2026 that Lynne Block, who won West Vancouver-Capilano for the Conservatives in 2024, will run in North Vancouver-Seymour. On September 30, 2026 the Elections BC list showed Chant as the only accepted nomination in the district.

Her X, Facebook and Instagram pages showed a sign-in page and were not used. Her Bluesky posts were read; the latest is from July 31, 2026, and none states a campaign measure. North Shore News and Castanet reports on the North Shore races answered HTTP 403 and were not read. No 2026 all-candidates meeting for North Vancouver-Seymour was found.
