01 / Introduction

## About Scott MacDonald

Elections BC lists Scott MacDonald as the BC Green Party candidate in Vancouver-West End. The BC Green Party's candidate page uses the full name Donald Scott MacDonald. The copy of the Elections BC list voche.me read, stamped October 1, 2026 11:00:06 PM, shows one other accepted candidate in the district: Spencer Chandra Herbert of the BC NDP.

The party's candidate page says he is a recently retired doctor who lives in downtown Vancouver. It says he worked as a family doctor in Vancouver from 2004 until he retired in 2026, with a focus on addiction care, and that he earlier ran Casey House Hospice in Toronto as its medical director, worked in HIV programs at St. Paul's Hospital and the Wellesley Hospital, gave care in northern Manitoba and Nunavut, and worked as a doctor with the Canadian military in Halifax. The page says he holds a science degree from Mount Allison University and a medical degree from Dalhousie University. voche.me has not checked these facts with the medical licensing body, the hospitals or the universities.

Elections Canada's official results show that Scott MacDonald ran for the Green Party of Canada in Vancouver Centre on April 28, 2025, and received 757 votes, 1.4 percent of the vote. Hedy Fry of the Liberal Party won the seat with 29,855 votes. The party's 2026 page says he ran in that race, which ties the two candidacies to one person.

voche.me searched the 2024 statement of votes for his surname and found no entry for him. In 2024 Vancouver-West End was won by Spencer Chandra Herbert of the BC NDP with 13,143 votes (63.01 percent). The BC Green candidate that year, Eoin O'Dwyer, received 1,893 votes (9.08 percent).
