## About Sarah Zimmerman

Elections BC lists Sarah Zimmerman as the BC NDP candidate in Skeena. The other names on the list for the district are Nick Gottlieb of the BC Green Party and Claire Rattée of the Conservative Party, who won the seat in 2024.

The City of Terrace council page says she was elected to council in October 2022, sits on the City’s Housing Committee and is its liaison to the Heritage Park Museum board. The Terrace Standard reports that she is also the City’s liaison to the Kitimat Airshed Group, which monitors air quality, and one of three council members on the centennial advisory committee.

She filed to run again for Terrace council in 2026 and was on the City’s September 11 list of candidates. The Terrace Standard reports that her name was absent from the final list after the September 18 withdrawal deadline, and that the BC NDP then named her its Skeena candidate.

She also ran for the BC NDP in Skeena in 2024. The 2024 statement of votes shows she finished second of four with 5,419 votes (44.44 percent). Claire Rattée won with 6,243 votes (51.20 percent).

The BC NDP says she is a former executive director of communications at Coast Mountain College. The Terrace Standard describes her as a former journalist and entrepreneur who has held senior communications roles. voche.me has not checked these jobs with the college or other records.
