01 / Introduction

## About Ryan Peterson

Elections BC lists Ryan Peterson as the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Coquitlam-Burke Mountain. The Western Standard reported on September 29, 2026 that the party introduced him that week, along with four other candidates, and described him as the Business Council of BC chair. In 2024 the BC NDP's Jodie Wickens won the district with 11,020 votes (50.85 percent). The Conservative candidate, Stephen Frolek, received 10,652 votes (49.15 percent), a gap of 368 votes. Elections BC's list on 2026-10-03 shows Wickens as the BC NDP candidate in 2026. Peterson's name is not in the 2024 statement of votes.

The party says Peterson co-founded Finger Food Studios in Port Coquitlam in 2011 and grew it into a technology company with 200 employees. It says the company was named B.C. Exporter of the Year in 2017. voche.me has not checked that award. Techcouver reported on May 7, 2020 that Unity Technologies had bought Finger Food Advanced Technology Group, that Unity would keep all of its 200 or more staff, and that its CEO, Ryan Peterson, would become Unity's VP, Solutions. The party adds that he then led a Unity division of more than 1,000 people. voche.me has not checked that claim.

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce lists Ryan Peterson of Finger Food Advanced Technology Group as the winner of its Business Leader award in its 2019 Business Excellence Awards. The Rick Hansen Foundation says Ryan Peterson is a director of the foundation and a board and executive committee member of the Business Council of British Columbia, and that he and Monica Peterson received the King Charles III Coronation Medal as Community Builders. The Governor General's list of recipients names a Ryan Peterson of Anmore, British Columbia, awarded on June 20, 2025.

The party says B.C. business leaders elected him chair of the Business Council of British Columbia in 2026 and that he has stepped away from that role to seek election. The Business Council's board page, read on 2026-10-03, names no Ryan Peterson. voche.me found no statement from the Business Council about his chair term or his departure.

voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

No campaign website was found by search or on the party page, and the party's candidate page links to the party's own social media accounts. His X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn pages could not be read without signing in, so nothing from them is used. The party's platform page says the full platform is coming soon, lists plan titles and does not name him; no commitment in his own words was found. No party news release naming him was found; the Western Standard report of September 29, 2026 is the only independent report of his introduction that voche.me opened. The Western Standard gives no date for the introduction itself beyond the week of its report. The party says the company was named B.C. Exporter of the Year in 2017, that he led a Unity division of more than 1,000 people, and that he serves on the Rick Hansen Foundation board. voche.me did not verify the first two. The foundation's 2025 medal page says he is a director, but the foundation's board page read on 2026-10-03 does not list him by name. The party says he was elected chair of the Business Council of BC in 2026 and has stepped away. The Council's board page lists Lisa Sparrow as past chair for 2024 to 2026 and names no Ryan Peterson, and its news page about the new chair returned an error. voche.me has not seen the Council's record of his term or its end. The Governor General's list names a Ryan Peterson of Anmore as a medal recipient. The foundation's page ties the medal to a director who also sits on the Business Council's board, and voche.me treats the two as one person on that basis. A Finger Food, Unity or other company record of his role, and the LinkedIn profile of a Ryan Peterson that shows a headline cut off by a sign-in wall, were not used. The party page describes his spouse and children; voche.me leaves them out. All-candidates meetings in the district, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list and the 2024 statement of votes, the party's candidate page, team page and platform page, the Western Standard report of September 29, 2026, the Rick Hansen Foundation's 2025 medal page and director page, the Governor General's recipient list, the Tri-Cities Chamber's awards list, the Business Council of BC's board page and a 2020 Techcouver report.

No campaign website or statement in his own words was found. The party's platform page says the full platform is coming soon and does not name him. His social media accounts could not be read without signing in. The Business Council's own news page about its new chair returned an error on 2026-10-03, so nothing from it is used.
