01 / Introduction

## About Raman Sharma

Elections BC lists Raman Sharma as the Centre BC candidate in Surrey City Centre. Elections BC's key dates page says nominations closed at 1 p.m. PT on October 3, 2026. On the list stamped October 3, 2026 04:00:07 PM, the other two candidates in the district are Amna Shah of the BC NDP and Zeeshan Wahla of the Conservative Party.

In the 2024 provincial election Amna Shah of the BC NDP won the district with 6,726 votes (46.70 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. Zeeshan Wahla of the Conservative Party received 6,494 votes (45.08 percent), Colin Boyd of the BC Green Party 877 (6.09 percent), Saeed Naguib, listed as Independent, 160 (1.11 percent) and Ryan Abbott of the Communist Party of BC 147 (1.02 percent). The margin between the first two was 232 votes. A search of that document for the name Raman Sharma found no candidate, and BC Ballot says no previous run is on record for him in provincial, federal or local elections.

Centre BC's page about him says he is a long-time Surrey resident and entrepreneur with more than 28 years in Canada, that he arrived in 1998, and that he has worked in business, construction, community service and civic engagement. It says he founded the Tradesman Association of BC in 2016 and is still its president, that the association offers builder licensing preparation, energy advisor education and safety training, that he founded the Annual Construction Expo and the South Asian Construction Excellence (SACE) Awards, and that he is a director of Unite to Help, a group it describes as running humanitarian and food bank work. These are the party's statements. voche.me has not checked the business history, the arrival year or the Unite to Help directorship against an independent record.

Two other pages bear on the association. The Tradesman Association of BC's own About Us page, which calls the group Tradesman BC, lists a Raman Sharma with the title President beside seven other names, says the group was founded in 2016 and says it introduced the SACE Awards in 2023. In the House of Commons on March 25, 2026, Sukh Dhaliwal, the Liberal Member of Parliament for Surrey Newton, said in a statement that the association would host its 10th annual construction expo in Surrey on March 28 and 29, "Led by president and founder Mr. Raman Sharma". The party names the candidate as the association's president, and both pages name the same title at the same group. Neither page states that the candidate and the person named are the same person.

The party's page quotes no priority, policy or promise for him. It credits him with the view that public leadership is about listening to people, understanding community needs, bringing people together and turning ideas into practical action. Centre BC's policy page says its Policy Committee is still developing its first policy pillars, so no 2026 platform exists for his candidacy to match.

## Policies, budgets & programs

voche.me found no elected office held by him in the sources read on 2026-10-03, so it found no voting record to review. The Tradesman Association of BC is a non-profit trades association. Its presidency is a private role.

The WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit on 2026-10-03, so the name search was limited. voche.me tried Bing through a direct request and the results did not concern him, DuckDuckGo showed a CAPTCHA, Brave answered HTTP 429, Mojeek answered HTTP 403, and the site searches of the Western Standard and the Surrey Now-Leader returned pages that did not mention him but may not have filtered by name. An exact-name search of openparliament.ca found one result, the House of Commons statement of March 25, 2026. No news report, interview, debate or all-candidates meeting featuring him as a 2026 candidate was found. The party's page lists no website of his own and no social media account of his own. The five social links on that page lead to the party's accounts, and voche.me read only the party's Bluesky feed, whose 147 posts (replies excluded) from November 6, 2025 to October 2, 2026 do not mention him. The party's statements about him are unchecked: arriving in Canada in 1998, his business and construction work, the founding of the SACE Awards, the Unite to Help directorship, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Pin, and recognition by Premier David Eby and by Jagrup Brar in the Legislative Assembly. The page also names a long volunteer record with a community organization that voche.me left out. The Tradesman Association of BC's own pages are the association's account of itself, and the counts on them (6000+ expo attendees annually, 1000+ students trained) are its own figures. The party's page and the association's page name him as president, and the Commons statement names a Raman Sharma as president and founder. No page states that these are the same person. Centre BC has published no 2026 platform, so no promise could be attributed to him. Campaign finances and endorsements were not found. The questionnaire has not been sent.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list stamped October 3, 2026 04:00:07 PM, the Elections BC key dates page and the 2024 statement of votes, the Centre BC page about him and the party's Our Team, Our Policy and News pages, the party's 147 public Bluesky posts (replies excluded) from November 6, 2025 to October 2, 2026, the BC Ballot page about him, the Tradesman Association of BC's About Us and home pages, the SACE Awards About page, and the House of Commons transcript for March 25, 2026. The WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, so voche.me could not run a full name search, and the name search was limited.

His biography here comes from the party's page about him. voche.me has checked one part of it, his role as president of the Tradesman Association of BC, against the association's own page and a statement in the House of Commons. The other claims are unchecked. He has no website of his own that voche.me could find. An empty section records that voche.me found nothing on this date.

## Experience & community

Since 2016, by the party's account

### President, Tradesman Association of BC

The party's page says he founded the association in 2016 and continues as its president. The association's About Us page lists a Raman Sharma as President and says the group was founded in 2016. In the House of Commons on March 25, 2026, Sukh Dhaliwal, Member of Parliament for Surrey Newton, called a Raman Sharma the association's president and founder. The association and the party are the sources of the title. The Commons statement is one member's praise, made in a Statements by Members slot.

### Leader of the Annual Construction Expo

The party's page says he founded and leads the Annual Construction Expo. In the House of Commons on March 25, 2026, Sukh Dhaliwal said the association's 10th annual construction expo would run in Surrey on March 28 and 29, "Led by president and founder Mr. Raman Sharma". The association's About Us page says it launched the expo in 2016. voche.me did not find an attendance count from an independent source.

### Founder of the South Asian Construction Excellence (SACE) Awards

The party's page says he founded the SACE Awards. The association's About Us page says the group introduced the awards in 2023, and the SACE Awards site says the association organizes them. Neither page names him as founder, so the founder claim rests on the party's page.

### Director, Unite to Help

The party's page says he is a director of Unite to Help, which it describes as running humanitarian initiatives, food bank programs, fundraising and community outreach. voche.me found no page from Unite to Help or a registry that lists him, so the claim is unchecked.
