No campaign website of the candidate's own, party candidate page, news report about this candidacy, all-candidates meeting or endorsement was found on 2026-10-03. The BC Green Party's page of 2026 candidates did not list Samarakoone or Vancouver-Yaletown when read that day, and its site search for the name returned no results. The name search was limited: the WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, Bing returned unrelated pages on some requests, DuckDuckGo showed a verification challenge and Google returned no readable results. Name searches also returned pages about a Priyan Samarakoone who works as a lawyer in Vancouver, and search result snippets, not opened, that name a Priyan M. Samarakoone as board chair of the Vancouver Green Party in 2023. No page that voche.me opened states that this person is the candidate, so none of those pages is used for anything about the candidate. An X account and a LinkedIn page appeared in the searches. Neither is tied to the candidate by a page that was opened, and neither could be read. BC Ballot's statement that the candidate has no previous run on record is BC Ballot's, and voche.me did not check Elections BC's finance reports. No council, school board or other minutes search applies, because no public role is on record for the candidate. The BC Green Party's plan page says its full platform is coming soon. The questionnaire has not been sent. Research status ## What voche.me has checked Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list, key dates page and 2024 statement of votes; the BC Ballot pages for the candidate and for Vancouver-Yaletown; the BC Green Party's candidates page, its plan page and its site search; and name searches. The name search was limited: the WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, so voche.me used Bing, Google News and DuckDuckGo directly. Bing returned the candidate's BC Ballot page and pages about a person with the same name on some requests and unrelated pages on others, DuckDuckGo showed a verification challenge and Google returned no readable results. No page of the candidate's own and no page from the BC Green Party naming Samarakoone as a candidate was found, so the sections for priorities, talks and coverage are empty. The commitments listed below are the BC Green Party's platform, which does not name Samarakoone. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date. The candidate may have published material that these searches did not reach. 03 / Background ## Experience & community ### Background not supplied Work, public service and community involvement will appear here when supplied.
