01 / Introduction

## About Petra Kuret

Elections BC lists Petra Kuret as the CentreBC candidate in Vancouver-Quilchena. On the list stamped October 1, 2026 11:00:06 PM, the other accepted nomination in the district is Callista Ryan of the BC NDP. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so more candidates may be added. BC Ballot, a site that lists candidates by district, also shows Carson Binda of the Conservative Party and Dallas Brodie of OneBC as announced by their parties.

Dallas Brodie won the district in 2024 for the Conservative Party with 11,464 votes (51.58 percent), according to Elections BC’s statement of votes. Callista Ryan of the BC NDP received 8,649 votes (38.91 percent), Michael Barkusky of the BC Green Party 1,729 (7.78 percent) and Caroline Ying-Mei Wang, an independent, 385 (1.73 percent). A search of that statement for the name Kuret found no match.

The party’s page about her says she is running for the sake of the next generation, and that she will bring fiscal discipline, economic growth and respectful dialogue to the Legislature. It says Vancouver-Quilchena has been her home for more than 40 years.

A news release from Accenture, dated 2016-11-23, names her as its managing director for British Columbia and says she had a 24-year career at the company. It says the Women’s Executive Network named her to its 2016 list of Canada’s 100 most powerful women. BCBusiness reported on 2017-11-22 that she was also on the 2017 list. The party says she joined Accenture in 1993 and led its British Columbia practice from 2012.

MOSAIC, a Vancouver agency that helps newcomers and refugees settle and find work, lists her as the chair of its board. Its board page says she was a senior vice president at Vancity, the credit union, and later Head of Partnership at SkyHive, a company that sells an artificial intelligence system for training workers. MOSAIC reported that she received the King Charles III Coronation Medal on 2025-03-25, presented by MP Sukh Dhaliwal for her work as board chair.

MOSAIC’s board page also says she chairs the board of the German Canadian Care Home, which oversees the building of a new home for seniors. Her campaign site calls her a past chair of that board. The party says her main volunteer project has been winning provincial money for a new 178-bed long-term care home. Vancouver Coastal Health announced on 2025-05-29 that the German-Canadian Care Home in South Vancouver will be rebuilt with 178 beds, paid for in part with $13.1 million from the Ministry of Health. voche.me has not confirmed her role in securing that money.

The party says she began her career as a page in the House of Commons, worked for Members of Parliament in Canada and the United Kingdom, and sought the federal Liberal nomination in Vancouver Quadra in 2025. It says she holds an honours degree in political science from Carleton University and two board governance designations. These are the party’s statements, and voche.me has not checked them with the House of Commons, the Liberal Party, the university or the bodies that grant the designations. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

Vancouver Coastal Health announced that the German-Canadian Care Home in South Vancouver will be rebuilt with 178 beds, 46 more than now, with $13.1 million from the Ministry of Health and $11.1 million from the health authority. No news report, interview or debate with her as a 2026 candidate was found on 2026-10-01, and no party release or public party Bluesky post names her. Her positions come from her campaign website and one paragraph on the party’s page, so her views on health care, public safety, education, Indigenous reconciliation and transportation are unknown. Parts of her campaign website refer to Parliament and to Ottawa, so voche.me cannot tell which parts were written for this race. The party has published no 2026 election platform: its policy page says its Policy Committee is still writing its first policy areas. The party’s statements about her are unchecked: her work as a House of Commons page and for Members of Parliament, her bid for the federal Liberal nomination in Vancouver Quadra in 2025, her degree from Carleton University, her governance designations, her board roles at BC Women’s Hospital and elsewhere, and her role in securing provincial money for the German-Canadian Care Home. Vancity and SkyHive titles come from MOSAIC’s board page and were not checked with either company. A Business in Vancouver item from 2019 that names her returned HTTP 403 to direct reads and to the WebFetch tool. Her Facebook and Instagram pages showed only a sign-in page, her X page could not be read without signing in, and her LinkedIn profile returned HTTP 999, so nothing from them is used. All-candidates meetings in the district, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Nominations close October 3, 2026, so other candidates may still be added. The questionnaire has not been sent.
