01 / Introduction

## About Pavneet Singh

Elections BC lists Pavneet Singh as the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream. Castanet and KelownaNow report that the party named him on September 23, 2026, a few hours after former MP Tracy Gray said she wanted to run for the party in the district. Castanet reports that the early election call left no time for full nomination votes, so the party is appointing candidates in most districts.

The district's sitting MLA is Tara Armstrong. She won the seat in 2024 for the Conservative Party with 14,303 votes (53.92 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. The legislature now lists her as Independent. Pavneet Singh was not on the 2024 ballot.

He won the BC United nomination for Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream on November 25, 2023, against three other candidates, according to the Vernon Morning Star. On September 28, 2024, after BC United stopped its campaign, he ended his own campaign and said he supported Tara Armstrong, according to the Kelowna Daily Courier and Vernon Matters.

The Kelowna Daily Courier reports that he owns several fast-food franchises and gas stations in the Kelowna area. KelownaNow names Freshslice, Pita Pit and One Stop by Canco locations. In 2023 his campaign website said he came to the Okanagan as an international student and worked as a dishwasher before he became a business owner, as quoted by Vernon Matters. The party says he has lived in the Okanagan for more than 25 years.

My East Kootenay Now reports that he became the party's vice-president on August 20, 2026, replacing Sharon White. The party says he was earlier a director at large on its board. In October 2025, Castanet reported that he was the only member of the party's management committee who did not sign a letter asking then-leader John Rustad to resign.

No campaign website for his 2026 run was found, and the party's candidate page links to none. No policy statement from his 2026 campaign was found; the one commitment here is from his 2024 BC United campaign. His X account was read by a direct request and shows posts on his candidacy and an endorsement from former MLA Norm Letnick, with no dates in the text read, so no post is used as a dated entry. His Facebook and Instagram accounts were not read. The party's candidate page shows the label "Interim Conservative Party Leader" above his name. The party's own team page names Lorne Doerkson as leader, and reporting describes him as vice-president, so voche.me does not repeat that label. Castanet names his pizza franchise Happyslice, while KelownaNow names it Freshslice; voche.me has not checked which is right. His business ownership, his time in the Okanagan and his start as an international student come from reporting and from his campaigns; voche.me has not checked them with business or government records. All-candidates meetings other than the Kelowna Chamber forum, his campaign finances and his endorsements were not found on this date.
