## About Niki Sharma

Niki Sharma is the BC NDP candidate in Vancouver-Hastings on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. She won the district in 2024 with 14,237 votes, 64.15% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes.

The legislature record lists her election years as 2020 and 2024, and shows her as Attorney General and Deputy Premier from November 18, 2024.

In the legislature in 2026 she answered questions on DRIPA, the Court of Appeal's Gitxaała ruling and the Cowichan land title case. She introduced bills on safe access to schools and places of worship and on online renewal of driver's licences. In September 2026 she announced a lawsuit by the Province against OpenAI over the Tumbler Ridge shooting.

Her campaign page says she expanded local health care, opened child care spaces and new schools, and took on large companies over online safety. Those are the campaign's own statements.
