## About Maria J Cruz

The list shows nominations that Elections BC has accepted. On that copy the other accepted candidates in the district are Lara Honrado of the BC NDP, Lisa Phillips of the Conservative Party and Colin Smith of CentreBC. Her BC Green Party candidate page says she is an artist, educator, public servant, community advocate and longtime renter in Vancouver-South Granville, that she grew up in Mount Pleasant and has lived in South Granville for 15 years. It says she works as an Outreach Worker in the Vancouver School Board's Adult Education program. It also says she holds a Bachelor's degree in Theatre and Art History from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, has written arts policy for communities across British Columbia as a culture and heritage planner, and has been a member of UBCP/ACTRA for nearly 30 years. voche.me has not checked these claims against the school board, the universities or the union, so they are the campaign's account.

No campaign website of her own, social media account tied to this candidacy, interview, news report or public statement beyond her party's candidate page was found on 2026-10-03. Her job, degrees, heritage planning work, union membership and festival performance come only from that page and were not checked with the Vancouver School Board, the two universities, UBCP/ACTRA or the festival. Her page gives no employers, dates or places for the planning work. Her positions beyond the one quotation on that page, including the renter protections she would pass, are unknown. The general web search tool was at its usage limit, so the name search used Bing and Google News, and DuckDuckGo showed a verification challenge. The name Maria Cruz is shared by many people, and no page voche.me read ties any other record, role or public item under that name to this candidate, so none is used. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn were not opened, so nothing from them is used. All-candidates meetings, campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. Elections BC says it is still reviewing the nominations it received, so the list may change. The questionnaire has not been sent.

## What voche.me has checked
Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list (copy stamped October 3, 2026 09:00:06 PM), the Elections BC key dates page, the 2024 statement of votes, the BC Green Party's candidates page, her page on it, its Vancouver riding association page and its Our Plan page, and the BC Ballot voter-information page for her.
The name search was limited: the general web search tool had reached its usage limit, so the name was searched through Bing, Google News and the sites above. DuckDuckGo showed a verification challenge. The searches returned no page that names her beyond those listed. She has no campaign website of her own that voche.me could find, and Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn were not opened. Everything about her background comes from her party's page and is the campaign's account. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
