01 / Introduction

## About Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal

Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal is the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Surrey North on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. The legislature lists the sitting member for Surrey North as Mandeep Dhaliwal, a Conservative. The party's candidate page for Surrey North asks voters to "re-elect Mandeep Dhaliwal" and calls him the party's MLA for Surrey North, and the Surrey Now-Leader lists him as the incumbent. Together these sources tie the ballot name to the sitting member.

He won Surrey North in 2024 with 7,954 votes, 50.67% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes. The sitting member at that election, Rachna Singh of the BC NDP, received 6,795 votes.

In 2026 every question he asked in question period was about extortion threats and shootings in Surrey, according to the speech index. He asked for more police in Surrey, equal to Vancouver. He spoke against Bill 9, the freedom of information bill, and voted against it at third reading. In May 2026 he asked the House for leave to move a motion to recognize the 1984 killings of Sikhs in India as genocide, and leave was not granted. In 2025 he introduced Bill M215, a private member's bill on age-appropriate school materials.

Vista Radio (AM 1150) reported on September 9, 2026 that the Conservative leader named him shadow minister for parental rights and sports. The party and caucus pages say he came to Canada in his twenties, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in India, and founded Fixman Auto Glass Repair and Fixman Auto Glass Supplier in Surrey. Those are the party's own statements, and voche.me has not checked them.

### Dispute over how Motion M213 was brought to the House

After leave for his motion was refused, Dhaliwal raised a point of order and asked the Minister of Education and Child Care, Lisa Beare, to apologize for calling his motion "gross". NDP MLA Ravi Parmar said in a statement, reported by the Indo-Canadian Voice, that Dhaliwal chose a process that he knew would fail and should have used private members' time or worked across party lines.

#### Candidate or party response

Dhaliwal said in the caucus release, also printed by the Indo-Canadian Voice, that blocking the motion was disappointing to many Sikh families.

#### Verified status and limits

Hansard shows Beare withdrew the remark, saying she had called the Leader of the Opposition gross, and apologized to anyone in the gallery who was offended. No vote on the motion took place.

His website, mandeepdhaliwal.ca, shows only a sign-up page, so no campaign platform of his own was found. His X, Instagram and Facebook pages show a sign-in page to a direct read, so nothing from them is used. The party candidate page labels him "Interim Conservative Party Leader"; the caucus website carries a statement from Interim Leader Lorne Doerkson, so voche.me does not repeat that label. His business, his degree, his sports record and his charity rides are stated by the party and caucus pages only; voche.me has not checked them with a registry or the organizations named. The caucus page says he was named the party leader's chair for South Asian outreach in 2025; no independent source was found. Bill M215 was not traced past first reading, and its text was not opened. The order paper text of Motion M213 was not opened; its content is taken from the caucus release and the Indo-Canadian Voice. His 2025 speeches other than two transcripts, and the transcripts of his 2026 recorded votes, were not read line by line. A Weekly Voice report on the motion did not answer a direct read. No 2026 all-candidates meeting for Surrey North was found. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-09-30: the Elections BC candidate list and 2024 statement of votes, the legislature's 2025 and 2026 speech indexes and the 2026 vote index, nine 2026 transcripts and two 2025 transcripts where he spoke, the party candidate page and platform page, his caucus page and seven caucus releases, and news reports from the Surrey Now-Leader, Surrey News, the Indo-Canadian Voice and AM 1150.

His commitments on this page come from what he said in the legislature and in caucus releases. His own website shows only a sign-up page. Sections with no entry record that voche.me found nothing on this date.
