01 / Introduction

## About Kristina Loewen

Kristina Loewen is the Conservative Party of BC candidate in Kelowna Centre on Elections BC’s list for the general election of October 24, 2026. In 2024 she won the new district with 11,033 votes, 42.85% of the valid vote, 40 votes more than BC NDP candidate Loyal Wooldridge, according to the Elections BC statement of votes. The Northern View reported on November 8, 2024 that a judge declared her elected after a recount.

The legislature record lists her as a Conservative member first elected in 2024. Castanet reported in March 2025 that the party named her its critic for Social Development and Poverty Reduction. In 2026 she asked questions in the legislature on food banks, seniors in poverty, a patient waiting for a liver transplant and mental health care, and spoke at length against Bill 9, which changes the rules for freedom-of-information requests.

She has called for provincial action on intimate partner violence since Bailey McCourt was killed in Kelowna in July 2025. In a statement on June 17, 2026, published by the Conservative caucus, she said she would keep pushing for GPS monitoring with alerts to victims and a provincial registry of domestic violence offenders.

The party’s candidate page says she worked in real estate, as a care aide and as a doula, and as a youth leader. Those are the party’s own statements. Vernon Matters reported on September 23, 2026 that she would seek re-election. iNFOnews reported that she did not attend the Kelowna Centre forum in 2024 and that she says she plans to attend this time.

Her campaign site, kristina4kelowna.ca, builds its text with a script; voche.me read the text from the site’s own script file, and it states topics and past work but no measures, numbers or dates. Her Instagram, X and Facebook accounts show only a sign-in page or a follower count, so no post from them is used. The party’s candidate page labels her "Interim Conservative Party Leader". The party’s own team page names Lorne Doerkson as leader, so voche.me does not repeat that label. Her work in real estate, as a care aide and doula, and as a youth leader is stated by the party and by her campaign; voche.me has not checked it with any employer or licensing body. Her critic roles come from party statements and Castanet. Her campaign site also lists Rural Housing and Building Code, Prosperity and Social Development, and Children and Family Development; voche.me found no dated source for those roles. Votes other than Motion 203, the DRIPA repeal first reading and Bill 9 second reading are taken from the vote index only; their transcripts were not opened. Her 2025 speeches, questions and estimates debates are listed in the 2025 index and were not read line by line. The estimates debates of 2026 were read only where she asked about rates, the Rent Bank and fraud claims. A KelownaNow report on the 2024 recount and an earlier KelownaNow opinion piece answered HTTP 403; the opinion piece was read from an Internet Archive copy. The Conservative platform page says the platform is coming soon and does not name her. No 2026 campaign statement from her with a cost, a number or a date was found. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-09-30: the Elections BC candidate list and 2024 statement of votes, the legislature’s 2026 speech and vote indexes and the 2025 speech index, 20 transcripts from 2026 where she spoke or voted, her party candidate page, the party platform page, her campaign site, three caucus and party statements, and news reports from 2024 to 2026.

Her commitments on this page come from what she said in the legislature and in caucus statements. Her campaign site names topics and states no measures of its own. Sections with no entry record that voche.me found nothing on this date.
