## About Jeremy Valeriote

Jeremy Valeriote is the BC Green Party candidate in West Vancouver-Sea to Sky on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. He won the district in 2024 with 10,438 votes, 38.08% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes. The Conservative candidate had 9,762 votes and the BC NDP candidate 7,213.

CBC News reported in January 2025 that he became interim leader of the BC Greens when Sonia Furstenau stepped down. CBC also reported that he was a Gibsons town councillor from 2014 to 2018 and an executive coordinator in the District of Squamish mayor's office from 2021 to 2023. The Times Colonist reported in September 2025 that he opened the news conference where Emily Lowan was named leader, speaking as interim leader.

In the legislature in 2026 he spoke most often about a regional bus service for the Sea to Sky corridor, Woodfibre LNG and wastewater in Howe Sound, mental health care, the Hilltop House long-term care project in Squamish, and taxes on large wealth. The vote index records him voting against the 2026 budget motion and the Supply Act, and for the K’ómoks Treaty Act.

The BC Greens candidate page says he holds an engineering degree and a master's in leadership studies from Royal Roads University, and that he worked in environmental consulting. Those are the party's own statements.

The legislature record lists no cabinet or parliamentary secretary role for him in the 43rd Parliament, and his caucus titles were not checked against an official list. His own campaign website was not found; the party candidate page is the only campaign page read. His Facebook and Instagram pages showed a sign-in page with no readable posts, and the X address tried returned "not found", so nothing from social media is used. The Squamish Chief reported in June 2026 that he was writing a Clean Air Act as a private member's bill; the 2026 speech index lists no such bill, and voche.me found no later record of it. The party release of September 14, 2026 says he would speak to media about the Squamish to 100 Mile House rail line; voche.me found no report of what was said. The estimates debates where he spoke (Education, Health, Infrastructure, Finance, Tourism, Energy, Jobs, Mining, Transportation, Premier's Office) were read for his questions only, and the debates on Bills 3, 5, 13, 15 and 16 were not all read line by line. Votes come from the vote index; most vote transcripts were not opened. His engineering degree, his master's from Royal Roads University and his consulting career come from the party page and were not checked with the school or an employer. His term on Gibsons council (2014 to 2018) and his work in the Squamish mayor's office come from CBC News; the CivicInfo BC election results page answered HTTP 403 and was not read. No all-candidates meeting for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky was found on 2026-09-30. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.
