01 / Introduction

## About Jed Wiebe

Elections BC's candidate list, stamped October 3, 2026 4:00:07 PM, shows four accepted nominations in Salmon Arm-Shuswap: Gloria Morgan (BC NDP), Barbara Presch (OneBC), Jed Wiebe (BC Green Party) and David L Williams (Conservative Party). The Salmon Arm Observer reported on October 3, 2026 that these four were the final ballot at the 1 p.m. deadline, and that Wiebe and Williams both ran for their parties in 2024, when Williams was elected.

In 2024 Elections BC's statement of votes gives Wiebe 2,250 votes (7.08 percent of 31,788 valid votes) in Salmon Arm-Shuswap, fourth of five candidates. David L. Williams of the Conservative Party won with 16,566 (52.11 percent). Sylvia Lindgren of the BC NDP received 9,677 (30.44 percent), Greg McCune (Independent) 2,922 (9.19 percent) and Sherry Roy (Independent) 373 (1.17 percent).

The BC Green Party's candidate page says he is a lifelong Shuswap resident and organic farmer who co-owns and operates Elderberry Grove, an organic elderberry farm and small-scale processing business in Salmon Arm. The farm's own website names "Louise & Jed" as its farmers and says the farm was planted in 2017. A BC Gov News release of October 31, 2025 names Louise Lecouffe and Jed Wiebe of Elderberry Grove Farm in Salmon Arm among the farmers who received support from the New Entrant Farm Business Accelerator Program to build a larger on-site facility.

The City of Salmon Arm's minutes of the Environmental Advisory Committee for June 3, 2025 list J. Wiebe among the members present, and the chair introduced "Jed Weibe" as newly appointed Agricultural Industry Representative. The minutes spell the surname two ways. The party's page says he represents the agricultural community on that committee. The minutes record no statement by him at that meeting.

The party's page also says he studied sociology and anthropology, worked in the silviculture industry (the planting and care of forests), helped set up the BC Greens' Okanagan-Columbia-Shuswap Regional Riding Association and serves as its Campaign Coordinator, canvassed with Neighbours United for a proposed Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Law, and took part in the Vernon Climate Engagement Centre project. These are the party's statements. voche.me has not checked them with the organizations named.
