01 / Introduction

## About Grace Lore

Grace Lore is the BC NDP candidate in Victoria-Beacon Hill on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. She won the district in 2024 with 13,634 votes, 47.35% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes. Sonia Furstenau of the BC Green Party was second with 9,644 votes.

The legislature record lists her election years as 2020 and 2024. The government named her Minister of State for Child Care in the cabinet of December 7, 2022. CHEK News reported on January 15, 2024 that the Premier made her Minister of Children and Family Development. The legislature record shows her in that post again from November 18 to December 9, 2024, and as a minister without portfolio from December 10, 2024.

In the legislature in 2026 she spoke for a bill that changes tenancy rules in supportive housing, for the bill on safe access to places of worship, and against an amendment to a motion on the Human Rights Code. In July 2026 she wrote a column in Victoria News for Pride.

Her campaign page describes her as an anti-violence advocate, academic instructor and researcher, and says she served as Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity. Those are the campaign's own statements. A government biography also names her as Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity.

The campaign page lists no events and no platform of her own, and its Latest and Events links open the party pages. Her X, Facebook and Instagram pages show a sign-in page with no readable posts. Her BC NDP caucus page and MLA website answered HTTP 503 on 2026-09-30. The party releases page names her in no 2026 release. Search results name caucus releases from June 2026 that quote her on community safety funding and free World Cup events in Victoria; voche.me could not open them. The transcripts of her recorded votes were not opened, and the final votes on Bills 11 and 13 were not checked. Her 2020 election result, her dates as Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity, and her work before 2020 were not checked against official records. No 2026 all-candidates meeting for Victoria-Beacon Hill was found. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-09-30: the Elections BC candidate list and 2024 statement of votes, the legislature's 2026 speech and vote indexes, four 2026 transcripts where she spoke, a government release from January 2026 that quotes her, the 2022 cabinet release, a government biography, her campaign page, the BC NDP platform page and releases page, her July 2026 column in Victoria News, and news reports from 2024 and 2026.

Her commitments on this page come from what she said in the legislature in 2026, in one government release and in her column. Her campaign page states no measures of its own. Sections with no entry record that voche.me found nothing on this date.
