## About Garry Purewal

Elections BC lists Garry Purewal as the Conservative Party candidate in Surrey-Fleetwood. The list, read from the copy stamped October 1, 2026 10:00:06 PM, shows two accepted nominations in the district: Jagrup Brar of the BC NDP and Garry Purewal. Nominations close at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026, so more candidates may be added.

The party named him in a release dated September 29, 2026 that lists its ten candidates in Surrey. The Surrey Now-Leader and the Western Standard reported the same list. The Cloverdale Reporter wrote on September 28 that Paul Brar will run for CentreBC and that OneBC has announced Carolyn Hofbauer. Neither of them was on the Elections BC list on October 1.

The party's candidate page says he is a business owner and community volunteer with more than 20 years of experience in business, public service and community work. It says he served as a Military Police member with the Canadian Armed Forces, then owned and managed companies, including a property restoration business, and that he has led in youth sports. voche.me has not checked these statements with the Canadian Armed Forces, the provincial business registry or any sports group.

In the 2024 election Jagrup Brar won Surrey-Fleetwood with 9,923 votes (48.61 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. Avtar Gill, the Conservative Party candidate that year, received 9,170 votes (44.92 percent), and Tim Binnema of the BC Green Party received 1,321 (6.47 percent). voche.me searched the whole statement for the name Purewal and found no match.
