01 / Introduction

## About Errol Povah

Elections BC lists Errol Povah as the Freedom Party of BC candidate in Surrey-Serpentine River. The list is stamped October 3, 2026 05:00:07 PM, after nominations closed at 1 p.m. that day. It shows four accepted nominations in the district: Todd Holowchak (OneBC), Sikander Kang (BC NDP), Errol Povah (Freedom Party of BC) and Jessy Sahota (Conservative Party).

In 2024 Linda Hepner of the Conservative Party won the district with 9,782 votes (49.70 percent). Baltej Singh Dhillon of the BC NDP received 9,347 (47.49 percent) and Jim McMurtry, an Independent, 554 (2.81 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. The Surrey Now-Leader reported on 2026-09-28 that Hepner decided not to run in 2026. A search of the district's 2024 results for the name Povah found no match.

The Freedom Party of BC says on its website that it was founded on January 9, 2023, by Amrit Birring and Jay Em, and that Birring is its leader. The website's candidate page still shows the 2024 election and lists no one for Surrey-Serpentine River. No party page, news report or social post that voche.me could read on 2026-10-03 describes this candidate's work, background or views, so none are given here.

The party's platform page lists its positions, including a ban on foreign ownership of BC housing and farmland, lower taxes and support for natural resource industries. Those are the party's statements. The page does not name him, and voche.me found no words of his own that repeat them. voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

voche.me found no campaign website of his, no party page about him, no readable social media post by him and no interview or statement from him as a candidate on 2026-10-03. His views, background, work history and community roles are unknown. The party's candidates page shows the 2024 election and lists no one for this district, and its news page shows no 2026 post. The party's platform page has no date and names no candidate, so each commitment on it is the party's. The party's Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube pages opened only as sign-in or script pages with no readable posts, so nothing from them is used. The 2024 statement of votes lists an Errol E. Povah as an Independent in Richmond-Queensborough, with 258 votes (1.31 percent). BC Ballot says it found no previous run for this candidate. No page voche.me opened states that the 2024 candidate is this candidate, so the 2024 result is not used. News reports and other web pages name people called Errol Povah in other matters. No page voche.me opened ties any of them to this candidacy, so none is used, and the question of which person is the candidate is open. The WebSearch tool had no searches left in this session, so the name search used Google News, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and the search pages of the Surrey Now-Leader, CBC, Castanet, CTV, the Richmond News and pauljhenderson.com. DuckDuckGo showed a challenge page, Google showed an error page, Bing returned unrelated pages, and the CBC, Castanet and Richmond News pages returned HTTP 403. Campaign finances, endorsements and all-candidates meetings that include his party were not found on this date. The questionnaire has not been sent.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list stamped October 3, 2026 05:00:07 PM and its key dates page, the 2024 statement of votes, the Freedom Party of BC home, candidates, news and about pages, the BC Ballot page for the district, the Surrey Now-Leader reports of 2026-09-28 and 2026-10-01, and the Surrey and White Rock Board of Trade forum page. The WebSearch tool had no searches left, so the name search was limited to news feeds and the search pages of local news sites.

voche.me found no campaign website of his, no party page about him, no readable social media post by him and no interview with him on 2026-10-03. The party's five public social pages (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube) opened only as sign-in pages with no readable posts.
