## About Arwa Shurab
Elections BC lists Arwa Shurab as the BC Green Party candidate in West Vancouver-Capilano. On the copy of the list stamped October 3, 2026 6:00:07 PM, which is after nominations closed at 1 p.m. that day, three candidates are shown for the district: Honieh Barzegari (BC NDP), Caroline Elliott (Conservative Party) and Arwa Shurab (BC Green Party).
Her BC Green Party candidate page says she is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, leadership coach, community organizer, speaker and trainer who lives on the North Shore. It says she holds a Master's degree in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University, is a Certified and Master-Certified Life Coach, founded HERVOICE (an initiative that supports women through leadership development), and serves as a board director of the North Shore Restorative Justice Society. These are the party's statements about her. voche.me has not checked the consultant licence or the degree with the bodies that issue them.
The North Shore Restorative Justice Society's own page about her lists her as a Director and describes her as a co-founder of BC Muslim and Arab Professionals. Her HERVOICE website says she is a Palestinian woman who advocates for the rights of the Palestinian people, and that HERVOICE works to give women in remote areas equal leadership opportunities. The campaign's quote on her party page is "You can't lead people you don't listen to."
voche.me found no public office held by her, no policy statement in her own words and no news report about her candidacy. BC Ballot, a voter information site, says it found no previous run, term or finance report for her in provincial, federal or local records. voche.me did not check those records itself.
In 2024 the BC Green Party's candidate in this district, Archie Kaario, received 1,435 votes (5.56 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes. Lynne Block won for the Conservative Party with 12,049 votes (46.67 percent). voche.me has not contacted the campaign.

The name search was limited: the WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, Bing returned unrelated pages for most queries, and Google News returned two 2025 items that name an Arwa Shurab. One of them (rabble.ca) could not be opened (HTTP 403). The other was opened and does not tie its Arwa Shurab to this candidate, so neither is used. A Facebook event listing and an IDRF speaker page for an Arwa Shurab also appeared in search results. The IDRF page holds no biography and the Facebook page could not be opened, so neither is used. Her Instagram account and LinkedIn profile could not be opened because both ask visitors to log in. Her Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant licence and her degree from Royal Roads University were not checked with the bodies that issue them.
