## About Andrew Appleton

Elections BC lists Andrew Appleton as the BC Green Party candidate in Oak Bay-Gordon Head. On the copy of the list stamped October 3, 2026 2:00:06 PM, which is after nominations closed at 1 p.m. that day, the district shows four candidates: Andrew Appleton (BC Green Party), Diana Gibson (BC NDP), Stan Sipos (Conservative Party) and Andrew Weaver (CentreBC). In 2024 Diana Gibson won the district for the BC NDP with 14,519 votes (49.10 percent). Stephen Andrew (Conservative Party) received 8,542 votes (28.89 percent) and Lisa Gunderson, the BC Green candidate, received 6,509 votes (22.01 percent), according to Elections BC's statement of votes.

The District of Oak Bay's council profile page lists Councillor Andrew Appleton with council service commenced in November 2018 and re-election in November 2022. Its 2026 appointments for him include the Greater Victoria Public Library Board and the Capital Regional District's Inter-Municipal Climate Action Steering Committee. On September 8, 2026 he wrote on his website that he had decided not to seek re-election, and the Times Colonist listed him on September 29 among three councillors not running on October 17. The party announced his provincial candidacy the same day.

News reports from 2024 name him as chair of the Greater Victoria Public Library board. The campaign says he held that post in 2023 and 2024, and that he chaired Oak Bay's Community Climate Action Working Group, which launched the Coolkit community climate program. voche.me has not checked the working group or Coolkit claims with the District of Oak Bay.

The party's candidate page says he has worked more than 25 years in environmental protection and conservation, at all four levels of government and for a decade in the non-profit sector. His council campaign website says he works as a regional manager in the province's Recreation Sites and Trails program, and in a 2022 Times Colonist questionnaire he said he worked for the provincial Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in that branch. voche.me has not checked his employment or career history with an employer.

voche.me has not contacted the campaign. The party's candidate page lists no events and no platform of his own.
