01 / Introduction

## About Alex Muir

Elections BC lists Alex Muir as a candidate for the Conservative Party in Vancouver-Little Mountain. The copy of the list read on 2026-10-03, stamped October 3, 2026 06:00:07 PM, shows three accepted nominations in the district: Christine Boyle of the BC NDP, Sarah MacLeod of the BC Green Party and Alex Muir. Nominations closed at 1 p.m. on October 3, 2026.

The party's candidate page calls him Alexander Muir. It says he was born in Vancouver, grew up in Victoria and lived in Ottawa, Toronto and Edmonton before he came back to Vancouver to finish high school. It says he represented Team BC in rugby and earned his first cap for Canada's U20 national team against Samoa at the 2025 Pacific Nations U20 Cup. It also says he spent two years studying and playing rugby at University College Dublin, then finished a political science degree at the University of British Columbia.

The party says he worked as a communications staffer in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in Ottawa, where he helped write speeches and press releases and prepared Question Period materials on housing, forestry and resource issues. The page names no dates, no leader and no employer other than that office. voche.me found no second source for any of these statements on 2026-10-03.

The party's page gives one statement of his outlook, in the third person: he believes a new generation of British Columbians deserves a province they can afford to build a life in and a government willing to fight for them. It names no measure, number, cost or date.

BC Ballot, an independent election information site, lists no earlier run, term or finance report for him in provincial, federal or local election records. It reports that Christine Boyle won the district in 2024 with 62.1 percent of the vote, ahead of the Conservative Party's John Coupar by 7,932 votes.

No campaign website of his own was found on 2026-10-03. The party's candidate page links only to the party's own social media accounts. The party's X account could not be read (HTTP 402), and no account of his own was found for X, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, so nothing from social media is used. The name search was limited: the WebSearch tool had reached its usage limit, and Bing, Brave, DuckDuckGo and Google pages returned either no usable results or a challenge page. The Brave results listed only the party page, BC Ballot, VoteMate and the Elections BC list. No news story, interview or all-candidates meeting that names him was found. His rugby record (Team BC, and a first cap for Canada's U20 team against Samoa at the 2025 Pacific Nations U20 Cup) is stated only by the party; searches of rugby sources found no roster or match report naming him. His staff role in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in Ottawa, and his studies at University College Dublin and the University of British Columbia, are stated only by the party. The page names no leader, dates or years for any of them. The party's platform page lists plan titles, says the platform is coming soon and does not name him. No party release on its news page on 2026-10-03 names him, and the party's team page lists him only as the candidate for Vancouver-Little Mountain. Campaign finances and endorsements were not found on this date. The questionnaire has not been sent.

## What voche.me has checked

Evidence reviewed on 2026-10-03: the Elections BC candidate list and key dates page, the party's candidate, team, platform and news pages, and the BC Ballot candidate page and candidate list. The party's candidate page and BC Ballot are the only pages found that discuss him.

No campaign website of his own, no public social media account of his own and no news story quoting him were found. The name search was limited because the search tool was unavailable and public search pages returned no usable results, so the absence of news coverage is not confirmed. The rugby and Ottawa statements could not be checked with a second source. An empty section records what voche.me did not find on this date.
