01 / Introduction

## About Adrian Dix

Adrian Dix is the BC NDP candidate in Vancouver-Renfrew on Elections BC's list for the general election of October 24, 2026. He won the district in 2024 with 10,983 votes, 63.22% of the valid vote, according to the Elections BC statement of votes.

The legislature record lists his election years as 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2020 and 2024. The Tyee reported in April 2011 that he won the BC NDP leadership as the MLA for Vancouver-Kingsway. The government named him Minister of Health on July 18, 2017. The legislature record shows him as Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions from November 18, 2024.

In the legislature in 2026 he answered questions on LNG projects, a proposed oil pipeline, BC Hydro rates and the natural gas royalty system. In September 2026 he spoke to reporters about errors by his ministry's staff in the natural gas revenue forecast.

His campaign page says he served as Minister of Health from 2017 to 2024 and describes community work in the district. Those are the campaign's own statements.

The campaign page lists no events and no platform of his own, and its Latest and Events links open the party home page. His social media posts could not be read, because X, Facebook and Instagram show a sign-in page. The Energy and Climate Solutions estimates debates (April and May 2026) and the Bill 16 debate where he spoke were not read line by line. Votes are taken from the vote index only; the transcripts of those votes were not opened. No 2026 all-candidates meeting for Vancouver-Renfrew was found. A Trout Lake Community Centre page that names Renfrew Park Community Centre is from 2024. Dates as BC NDP leader after 2011, his roles before 2011, and his record as Minister of Health from 2017 to 2024 were not checked against official records beyond the 2017 cabinet release. Campaign finances and endorsements were not reviewed. The questionnaire has not been sent.
