01 / Introduction

## About Lisa Muri

Lisa Muri was re-elected to District of North Vancouver Council on October 17, 2026. The District's official count gives her 10,008 votes, second of the 15 candidates for six seats. The Chief Election Officer declared the result on October 19, 2026.

She was re-elected in 2022 as an incumbent, Global News and The North Shore Local reported. In her own statement published by The North Shore Local in October 2022 she wrote that she had 26 years of experience on council, that she was born and raised in the District, and that in 1996 she was part of a group that saved 1,000 acres of forest on Seymour from development. On VoteMate in 2026 she called herself the longest serving councillor on the North Shore. Those are her own accounts.

In her 2026 North Shore News answers she wrote that the District must work with senior governments to replace the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge, contain spending and reduce the property tax increase to offset higher utility bills from the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant, and review the infrastructure and funding needed to meet the Province's housing targets, which she called unsustainable.

She wrote that the housing problem is one of affordability and that the District should protect existing social housing and older multi-family housing. She also called for a regional treatment facility for mental health and addiction, and for an audit of the environmental and financial cost of the loss of the urban tree canopy and of more hard surfaces.
