Progress for Langley · Langley Township 2026

# Eric Woodward's organization, which held the Township majority from 2022 and kept two council seats in 2026

Progress for Langley, registered as the Progress for Langley Association and formerly the Contract With Langley Association, is an elector organization registered with Elections BC for the Township of Langley, the City of Langley and the Langley School District. Eric Woodward founded it for the 2022 election, won the mayor's chair, and its candidates held a majority of Council through the term. In 2026 it ran 14 candidates in the Township and two were elected: councillors Michael V. Pratt and Steve Ferguson. Woodward lost the mayor's race. Its plan promised growth paying for growth, the lowest property taxes in the region and a Township RCMP detachment.

## About Progress for Langley

Elections BC's Register of Elector Organizations by Jurisdiction, dated October 30, 2026, lists the Progress for Langley Association, formerly known as the Contract With Langley Association, with the ballot name Progress for Langley, for the jurisdictions Langley School District, Langley, City of, and Langley, Township of. It names Eric Woodward as the authorized principal official.

The Township of Langley's results page prints Progress for Langley as the organization of 14 candidates: Eric Woodward for mayor; Tim Baillie, Steve Ferguson, June Park, Michael V. Pratt, Sarb Rai, Rob Rindt, Tess Rouse and Michele St. Germain for Council; and Matt Burck, Olivia Lake de Meza, Norma Jean Maxwell, Betty Siegel and Sean Stevenson for school trustee. Woodward had 15,459 votes to Jay Lundgren's 18,302. Pratt (12,872) and Ferguson (12,044) took the seventh and eighth council seats. Councillors Baillie and Rindt and all five trustee candidates were not elected.

The Aldergrove Star reported in August 2022 that Contract With Langley was a new party founded by Woodward, then a councillor, registered with Elections BC for the October 15, 2022 election. The Langley Advance Times reported in March 2026 that the group won six of the nine seats on Council in 2022, including the mayor's chair, and that three of its candidates were elected to the school board. Its 2022 disclosure statement endorses Woodward and six council candidates. By April 2026 the Advance Times described the organization as renamed Progress for Langley; the register does not say when.

CBC reported in September 2025 that Progress for Langley had registered in the City of Langley for the 2026 election, and that Woodward wanted a conversation on whether the two Langleys should be one municipality. The Township's results page prints no Progress for Langley candidate in Langley City, whose election is outside this record. CBC reported in April 2026 that the Township had authorized $602 million in debt during Woodward's term, the highest per person of any major BC city, and that Woodward said the borrowing paid for a catch-up in facilities and roads.

The organization's site, progressforlangley.org, did not answer on October 30, 2026; its pages were read from Internet Archive copies made on October 5 to 14, 2026. The plan page has nine headings: affordability, a common sense financial plan, roads and sidewalks, parks, facilities and youth sports, schools, the fire service, policing, and rural character. A What's At Risk page says the opposition would give up $200 million in community amenity contributions, end the Langley Housing Trust and undo the Township RCMP detachment. Those are the organization's own claims about its opponents.
