The Township of Langley posted on November 6 that its civic offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Remembrance Day, and that garbage and recycling collection will shift by one day for some zones.

The Civic Facility, the Operations Centre and the Fire Department's Administration Office will all be closed on November 11. They reopen on Thursday, November 12 at 8:30 am. Flags at Township facilities will be at half-mast.

## What changes for garbage and recycling

There is no curbside collection on Remembrance Day, the Township posted. Garbage, green cart and recycling collection will shift forward by one day for residents in the Wednesday zone and the Thursday zone. Residents in those two zones should check the Township's collection calendars at tol.ca to confirm their new pickup day before putting bins out.

The Township also offers a free weekly collection reminder that residents can sign up for to avoid missing a pickup in future weeks.

## Recreation facilities stay open

Recreation facilities in the Township will be open on November 11, the Township posted, but drop-in schedules and hours of operation may be different from a regular Wednesday. Each facility has its own statutory holiday hours posted on its webpage.

salishan Place by the River will be closed on November 11 and will reopen on November 12 at 9:00 am, the Township posted.

For other municipal buildings such as the Animal Shelter and Fire Halls, residents can call the location directly. Contact information for Township facilities is on the Township's website at tol.ca.

## Service emergencies and non-urgent requests

For non-urgent matters such as park, trail or road upkeep, the Township asks residents to submit a request online. For a service emergency that needs immediate attention on November 11, the Township's emergency line is 604-543-6722.

Residents in the Wednesday and Thursday collection zones should check their new pickup day at tol.ca before the holiday weekend.
