# Charlie Fox

- Elected, School Trustee16,528 votes, 1st of 15. Official count, Township of Langley. [All results](https://voche.me/bc/langley-township-2026/results#school-trustee)

Re-elected school trustee of Langley Township on October 17, 2026, with 16,528 votes, the most of the 15 trustee candidates. A Langley teacher and principal from 1973 to 2007, a Township councillor from 2005 to 2018 and a trustee since a 2021 byelection, he ran with Langley Strong on school sites secured before neighbourhoods fill up, staff recruitment and budget reports released before the vote.

Charlie Fox was re-elected to the Langley Board of Education on October 17, 2026, with 16,528 votes, the most of the 15 candidates for the Township's five seats, in the Township's official count, declared by the Chief Election Officer on October 21, 2026. The Township's results page prints Langley Strong as his elector organization. The Langley School District's trustee page lists him as a trustee. The Aldergrove Star reported that he won a byelection in February 2021 with 896 votes and was sworn in on March 11, 2021, and the Township's 2022 results give him 9,980 votes and the third of five seats. The Star described him as a teacher and principal in Langley schools for more than 30 years who retired as principal of Aldergrove Community Secondary, and as a Township councillor for several terms who left Council in 2018; by his own account he served four terms from 2005 to 2018 and chairs the Board's Finance and Audit Committee. On his Langley Strong page he lists seven things he will keep pushing for, among them school sites secured before neighbourhoods fill up, staff recruitment and mentoring, inclusion with the staffing to make it work, and budget reports released before Board votes.

01 / Introduction

## About Charlie Fox

Charlie Fox was re-elected to the Langley Board of Education on October 17, 2026, with 16,528 votes, first of the 15 candidates for the five Township seats, in the Township's official results declared on October 21, 2026. The Langley Advance Times reported that Langley Strong swept all five Township seats on the Board, which has two more seats elected in Langley City, and won the mayor's chair and six of the eight council seats. The new Board's inaugural meeting is on November 3, 2026, by the District's meeting schedule.

The Aldergrove Star reported that he won the February 2021 byelection for the seat Megan Dykeman left when she became an MLA, with 896 votes against six other candidates, and was sworn in on March 11, 2021; that he had been a teacher and principal in Langley schools for more than 30 years, retiring as principal of Aldergrove Community Secondary; and that he had been a Township councillor for many years before leaving before the 2018 election. The Township's 2022 results give him 9,980 votes and the third of the five Township seats. The District's trustee page lists him as a trustee on October 30, 2026. By his own account on the Langley Strong site, he moved to the Township in 1973 to teach at Aldergrove Elementary, retired in 2007, served four terms on Council from 2005 to 2018, and in this term chaired the Board's Finance and Audit Committee, represented the Board to the District Parent Advisory Council and was Langley's representative to the BC School Trustees Association and the BC Public School Employers' Association. voche.me has not checked the committee roles or the council terms against the District's or the Township's records.

Langley Strong announced on May 26, 2026 that he was its first school board candidate, and the Advance Times reported on September 2 that Holly Dickinson joined him and Candy Ashdown on the slate. On his page he writes that he had always run as an independent, that joining the team had not changed his duty to make his own decisions, and that what changed was his view of how closely the Board and Council need to work together. In the Advance Times' candidate profile of October 8 he wrote that his six years as a trustee had been enjoyable and productive. In the organization's trustee platform release of September 19 he said strong staff means attracting good people, keeping them, making sure they go home safe and letting the people doing the work help write the plan.

On his page he lists seven things he will keep pushing for: student achievement in literacy, numeracy and graduation; school sites secured and funding sought before new neighbourhoods fill up; recruiting and keeping teachers, education assistants and support staff, with mentoring for new teachers; students with diverse abilities learning alongside their peers, with the staffing to make it work; physical safety, bullying prevention and counselling; balanced budgets that account for the cost of running new schools, with budget reports released before Board votes; and measurable action on the District's commitments to Indigenous students. He also writes that he coordinates Aldergrove Rotary's Starfish Backpack program in four Aldergrove schools, which by his account has sent home more than 25,000 backpacks of food; that is his own account. No report of a court matter names him.

## Priorities & positions

Campaign-source summary

Summarized from the campaign’s published profile. These are stated positions, not an assessment of results or a complete platform.

01

### School sites and funding before neighbourhoods fill up

On his Langley Strong page he writes that he will secure sites and advocate for school funding before new neighbourhoods fill up, working with the Township early in the planning process, and that Willoughby shows why: homes arrived quickly and school capacity has been catching up since.

02

### Recruiting and keeping staff

He writes that he will push to recruit strong teachers, education assistants and support staff, to mentor new teachers through their first two years and to help staff build careers in Langley. In the trustee platform release of September 19, 2026 he said strong staff means attracting good people, keeping them and making sure they go home safe.

04

### Every student included, and safe, welcoming schools

He writes that he will support students with diverse abilities to learn alongside their peers, with the staffing and individual support that make inclusion work, and will make physical safety, bullying prevention and counselling priorities.

05

### Student achievement first

He lists literacy, numeracy, graduation and students leaving school ready for their next step as the first of his seven priorities. The Star reported in August 2022 that he named student achievement, staff recruitment, safe schools, new school sites, a balanced budget and reconciliation as his focus then too.

## What voche.me has checked

Researched on 2026-10-30 through the seven search steps listed below: the Township's results page, declaration of candidates and About the Candidates page; the Township's 2022 results page; the Langley School District's trustee page and board meetings page; his page on the Langley Strong site, the team page, the trustee platform, its release of September 19 and the announcement of May 26, 2026; the Fraser Valley News Network's copy of that announcement; his VoteMate page; the Advance Times' candidate profile of October 8 and its reports of September 2 and October 17, 2026; and the Aldergrove Star's reports of March 2021, August 2022 and October 2022, read from Internet Archive copies because the Star's old addresses now open its home page.

His byelection win, his 2022 count and his listing as a trustee come from the Star, the Township and the District. His teaching career and his years on Council are reported by the Star without dates; the dates, his committee roles and the backpack program are his own account. His Facebook page, the one he gave the Township, was not read, because the site shows a login page to scripts. The District's site publishes a meeting schedule and no minutes were found on it, so no Board vote was read. No report of a 2026 trustee all-candidates meeting quoting him was found.
