The North Delta Artisan and Gift Market will return on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Heath Elementary School, 11374 72nd Avenue, the Delta Optimist reported on November 7. Admission is free.

The market started seven years ago as a Facebook group for local artisans to sell crafts online during the pandemic, the Delta Optimist says. It has since grown to more than 40 members. Over its history the group has raised more than $47,000 for Deltassist Family and Community Services and Nick's Nook, according to the same report. Deltassist, which has served Delta residents since 1972, provides food security programs and other support across North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen.

## What to expect at the market

The Delta Optimist says visitors will find a selection of local artisans, Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Big White Burger Truck, FurryFairy Bites food truck, a student snack table and Holbean Coffee. An undercover picnic area will be set up for people who want to sit with a coffee or snack.

An early-bird shopping bag giveaway runs at the start of the market at 10 a.m.

The Rotary Club of North Delta will be at the market collecting coats and warm clothing for those in need. The Delta Optimist says a raffle in support of the Heath PAC will also be held during the event.

This year the market has moved to Heath Elementary. In previous years it was held at Sunshine Hills Elementary, where it helped support that school and the Rotary Club's Starfish backpack program.

## How to attend

The market is free to enter and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Heath Elementary School, 11374 72nd Avenue, North Delta. If you have coats or warm clothing to donate, bring them for the Rotary Club collection at the event.
