Three extreme weather response shelters across Delta opened Friday night and will be open again on Saturday, November 7, 2026, as an atmospheric river brings heavy rain and wind to the region. The North Delta Reporter reported the openings on November 6.

The Homelessness Services Association of BC extended an extreme weather response alert for Delta on November 6, 2026, citing a wind warning and expected heavy rainfall. The City's three shelters, two in North Delta and one in Ladner, will be open Saturday night.
