01 / Introduction

## About Ammen Dhillon

Ammen Dhillon was re-elected to the Delta Board of Education on October 17, 2026. The City of Delta's official count gives her 12,163 votes, fourth of the 18 candidates for seven seats, and the Chief Election Officer declared her elected on October 21, 2026. The North Delta Reporter reported that this was 7.44 per cent of the ballots cast for trustee and that she was one of three sitting trustees re-elected with One Delta.

The District's post of November 9, 2022 says she was sworn in as a new trustee that day, and the Optimist reported that she ran with Achieving for Delta in 2022. The District's post of November 5, 2025 records her election as vice-chair under chair Joe Muego, and its trustee page lists her as vice-chair and liaison trustee for North Delta Secondary and four elementary schools. The Reporter reported on April 28, 2026 that she, Windsor and Gooch had joined One Delta, the organization formed by four councillors after Mayor George Harvie's organization dropped them, and that she said her work as a clinical counsellor led to her support for more mental health supports in schools.

By her own account, in her 2022 statement to the Optimist, on the One Delta team page and on her VoteMate page, she holds a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of British Columbia, worked as a research scientist in the biotechnology sector for 20 years, is a registered clinical counsellor who works with women and young adults in Surrey and Delta in English and Punjabi, represents Delta on the BC School Trustees Association's provincial council, and is a director of the Delta Community Foundation. The Reporter described her as a registered clinical counsellor in April 2026. voche.me has not checked her degree, her counselling registration or her board roles with the university, the regulator or the foundation.

In the Reporter's questionnaire she named three priorities: strengthening student mental health and wellbeing, building strong academic foundations, and advocating for Delta students provincially. She wrote that she wants to continue strengthening mental health supports, relational literacy and early intervention, and that as a trustee and provincial representative she will keep bringing Delta's needs forward. In One Delta's platform release of September 29, 2026, the Reporter reported, she said academic skills are essential but no longer enough on their own. The One Delta school platform carries the slate's promises, listed on this page as the organization's.

## What voche.me has checked

Researched on 2026-10-30 through the seven search steps listed below: the City's declaration of results, results by polling location, declaration of candidates and candidates page; the Delta School District's trustee page and its posts of November 2022 and November 2025 on the election of the chair; the One Delta team page, school board platform, release of April 28, 2026 and Safe Routes release of September 1, 2026; her VoteMate page; the North Delta Reporter's questionnaire and its reports of April 28, May 27, September 29 and October 18, 2026; Daily Hive's report of May 30, 2026; and the Delta Optimist's reports of September, October and November 2022, each read from an Internet Archive copy because the Optimist's article pages refuse scripts.

Her years on the Board and her role as vice-chair come from the District's own pages. Her degree, her counselling work and her provincial council seat are her own account. Her Facebook and Instagram accounts, named on her VoteMate page, were not read, because both sites show a login page to scripts. The Board's minutes were not read for this page. No report of a 2026 all-candidates meeting quoting her was found.
