01 / Introduction

## About Alicia Guichon

Alicia Guichon was re-elected to Delta Council on October 17, 2026. The City of Delta's official count gives her 15,149 votes, the most of any council candidate, and the Chief Election Officer declared her elected on October 21, 2026. The North Delta Reporter reported that this was 9.10 per cent of the ballots cast for councillor, and that she was the one Achieving for Delta candidate elected to Council, with Mayor George Harvie third in the race for mayor.

The Reporter reported on October 21, 2018 that she was among the Achieving for Delta candidates elected to Council that year, describing her as an entrepreneur and farmer. The City's declaration of official results of October 19, 2022 names her among the six councillors elected in 2022, and the Reporter called her a two-term incumbent on election night in 2026. The City's council page lists her as culture liaison to the City's Sports and Culture Councils, Council liaison to the Delta Farmers' Institute, and a member of the Delta Heritage Airpark Management Committee and the Metro Vancouver Water Committee.

The City's council page says she is a fifth-generation farmer from a long line of Ladner farmers, that she opened Backroads Family Farm Market with her sister in 2014 after graduating from the University of British Columbia, and that she was born and raised in Ladner. By her own account, on the Achieving for Delta site and on VoteMate, she chairs the City's Agricultural Advisory Committee, sits on the board of the Delta Farmers Institute, has sold produce at the Ladner Village Market for more than 20 years, and is a member of the Ladner Business Association and the Delta Chamber of Commerce. voche.me has not checked those memberships with the bodies named.

Two Council decisions with her vote on record are reported by the Delta Optimist. On December 14, 2021 she was the one councillor who voted against amendments to the Official Community Plan for Ladner Village that allow buildings up to six storeys, saying she opposed altering the village's character; the amendments passed 4 to 1. In May 2024 most of Council voted to remove Mayor Harvie from the Metro Vancouver board, by the Optimist's account of December 2025; she was on leave and did not vote, and she did not sign the four councillors' statement against the mayor. In December 2025 the organization told those four councillors it would not endorse them in 2026, and the Optimist reported that she was not named in that letter. The Reporter reported on April 15, 2026 that she was on Harvie's first slate of 2026 candidates.

In the Reporter's questionnaire she named three priorities: the kinds of growth in Delta's key corridors and established neighbourhoods, the need for residents to be heard and more involved, and the protection of agricultural areas, the environment and natural spaces. She wrote that the new way Council votes on big projects is not working and that she favours public hearings and information sessions with Council, applicants and residents. Her VoteMate page says she is seeking re-election to protect agricultural land, green space and heritage and to move the revitalization of Ladner Village forward.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Researched on 2026-10-30 through the seven search steps listed below: the City's declaration of results, results by polling location, declaration of candidates, candidates page, council members page, her own page on the City's site and the 2022 declaration of results; her page on the Achieving for Delta site and the organization's council platform; her VoteMate page; the North Delta Reporter's questionnaire and its reports of October 2018, April 15, September 14 and October 18, 2026; and the Delta Optimist's reports of December 2021, April 2024, December 2025 and June 2026, the first two read from Internet Archive copies because the Optimist's article pages refuse scripts.

Her council appointments and her farm business come from the City's own pages. Her committee chair, her board seats and her memberships are her own account. The two votes described come from the Optimist's reports; the Council minutes themselves were not read, because the City's meetings site draws its pages with script. Her posts on the organization's Facebook and Instagram accounts were not read, because both sites show a login page to scripts. No report of a 2026 all-candidates meeting quoting her was found.
