Alexander Fischer was elected to Delta Council on October 17, 2026, with 12,947 votes in the City of Delta's official count, third of the 20 council candidates. The Chief Election Officer declared the result on October 21, 2026. The City's candidates page prints Delta First as his elector organization. The North Delta Reporter reported on May 11, 2026 that he had joined Delta First and that he founded Delta Voices for Responsible Development, a residents' group formed in early 2024 as Tsawwassen Voices for Responsible Development to oppose the City's new Official Community Plan; in August 2026 the group told the Reporter he had handed it to another person when he decided to run. The Reporter's election night report says the Delta First team had never held public office before. By his own account he has worked for nearly 15 years in financial services and technology. In the Reporter's questionnaire he named accountability and transparency at City Hall, growth matched with infrastructure and services, and support for local business as his priorities.

01 / Introduction

## About Alexander Fischer

Alexander Fischer was elected to Delta Council on October 17, 2026. The City of Delta's official count gives him 12,947 votes, third among the 20 council candidates, and the Chief Election Officer declared him elected on October 21, 2026. The North Delta Reporter reported that this was 7.78 per cent of the ballots cast for councillor, and its election night photograph shows him with mayor-elect Melissa Granum at the Delta First party in Ladner. The campaign calls him Alex Fischer; the ballot name is Alexander Fischer.

The Reporter and the Delta Optimist reported on May 11, 2026 that he had joined Delta First as its third council candidate, after Leah Bach stepped back. The Reporter described him as the founder of Delta Voices for Responsible Development, a grassroots group formed in early 2024 as Tsawwassen Voices for Responsible Development to oppose the City's new Official Community Plan, and said his work with the group included speaking at the plan's public hearing, letter-writing campaigns and petitions. In the campaign's release he said residents want growth that makes sense, infrastructure that keeps up, and a council that treats public input as more than a box to check.

On August 28, 2026 the Reporter reported on two rallies against high-density housing projects organized by members of Delta Voices for Responsible Development. He spoke at the first, on August 16 at Ladner United Church, and did not attend the second, a protest at City Hall on August 24. The group's organizers told the Reporter that the group had not endorsed any candidate, that he spoke as a resident, and that he had handed the group to another person when he decided to run for Council and was no longer involved in its day-to-day work. Granum told the Reporter the same.

By his own account, on the Delta First site, on VoteMate and in the Reporter's questionnaire, he has nearly 15 years of experience in financial services and technology, began in technology sales and business-to-business sales with Apple, studied philosophy at the University of British Columbia while vice president of the UBC Esports Association, volunteered with the Innocence Project at UBC's law school, and has worked for much of the last decade in banking, in anti-money laundering, compliance and lending. His candidate page says that through Delta Voices and wider community pressure residents helped bring about Council's rejection of a proposed high-rise development in Tsawwassen Town Centre. voche.me has not checked his work history with the employers named, and the Council decision is described here as his own account.

In the Reporter's questionnaire he named three priorities: restoring accountability and transparency at City Hall, matching responsible growth with infrastructure and services, and supporting local businesses and Delta's economy. He wrote that he would ask hard questions, press Council to explain its major decisions in public, and give residents and businesses a real chance to weigh in before decisions are made. Delta First's platform and First 90 Days plan carry the team's promises, listed on this page as the organization's.

Research status

## What voche.me has checked

Researched on 2026-10-30 through the seven search steps listed below: the City's declaration of results, results by polling location, declaration of candidates and candidates page; the Delta First site's candidates page, platform and First 90 Days plan; his VoteMate page; the North Delta Reporter's questionnaire and its reports of May 11, June 22, August 28, September 8 and October 18, 2026; and the Delta Optimist's report of May 11, 2026, read from an Internet Archive copy because the Optimist's article pages refuse scripts. The Optimist's statement page for him of October 2026 has no archive copy and was not read.

His founding of Delta Voices for Responsible Development is reported by the Reporter and confirmed by the group's own organizers in the Reporter's August report. His work history, his studies and his account of the Tsawwassen Town Centre decision are his own account. His posts on Instagram and Facebook and the Delta First YouTube channel were not read, because those sites show a login page or a script check to scripts. No report of a 2026 all-candidates meeting quoting him was found. He held no public office before the vote, so no minutes were searched.

### Founder, Delta Voices for Responsible Development

The North Delta Reporter reported that he founded the group in early 2024, as Tsawwassen Voices for Responsible Development, to oppose the City's new Official Community Plan, and in August 2026 the group's organizers told the Reporter he had handed it to another person when he decided to run for Council.
