The City of Coquitlam says safety improvements at two intersections begin on Monday, November 9. Drivers near Clarke Road and Glenayre Drive and near Guildford Way and Lansdowne Drive should expect delays and plan alternate routes, the City says.

## Clarke Road and Glenayre Drive

Work at Clarke Road and Glenayre Drive starts November 9 and runs for about two weeks, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City of Coquitlam labels the project intersection safety improvements but has not described the specific changes being made at this crossing.

The City says drivers should expect delays. Motorists are asked to follow all construction signage, watch for work crews and equipment in the area, and follow directions from traffic personnel on site. The City recommends planning an alternate route or allowing extra time before travelling through this area each weekday while the work is underway.

## Guildford Way and Lansdowne Drive

Work at Guildford Way and Lansdowne Drive runs on November 9 only, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The City of Coquitlam says the intersection will be in blackout mode that day, meaning the traffic signals will be off and traffic personnel will direct vehicles through the crossing.

The City says delays are expected and drivers should plan an alternate route or allow extra time when using this route on Monday. This work is a one-day project and the intersection returns to normal traffic signal operation after 3 p.m. on November 9.

## What drivers should know

The two projects are in different parts of the city. Guildford Way and Lansdowne Drive is near Coquitlam City Hall at 3000 Guildford Way. Clarke Road and Glenayre Drive is a separate crossing in another part of the city.

## Drivers who pass through either intersection on weekday mornings should check the City's alerts before heading out. The Clarke Road work runs weekdays only; weekend traffic is not affected. For questions, the City's Public Works Liaison is reachable by phone at 604-927-3550.
